PURPOSE:To compute the reference azimuth, required at the time of computing the advance azimuth using an on-vehicle turning angle sensor, with high accuracy from the geomagnetic azimuth, GPS position measured data and road data. CONSTITUTION:The azimuth of road data is checked by an azimuth checking means 106 on the basis of the moving direction of a GPS measured position detected by an absolute position measuring means 101, and the detected azimuth of a geomagnetic sensor 102. The advance azimuth of a vehicle is computed from the detected angle of a turning angle sensor 103 using the azimuth of road data according to the checked result. |
