PURPOSE:To produce the subject article at a high productivity which rarely breaks during stretching, retains the properties inherent in a high-density polyethylene, and is useful as a wrapping material, such as a film, which is light in wt., opaque, and glossy like a pearl. CONSTITUTION:100 pts.wt high-density polyethylene having a density of at least 0.940, 40 pts.wt hydrocarbon resin having a softening point of 170 deg.C or higher, and 0.05 pt.wt. org. peroxide, 2,5-dimethyl-2,5-di(t-butylperoxy)hexane, are mixed for 3min on a Henschel mixer and then melt mixed at 230 deg.C on a single-screw extruder. The resulting compsn. is melt-extruded at 220 deg.C on a production machine of a monoaxially oriented film consisting of a T-die extruder and a roll stretching machine to give a raw sheet, which is stretched at 120 deg.C at a stretching ratio of at least 3 in one direction, thereby giving the objective article. |
