PURPOSE:To suppress engagement shock caused by switching from a low speed gear stage to a high speed gear stage by promptly decelerating or changing a continuously variable transmission at a fixed change gear speed of fixed time, when it is detected that the up-shifting of a gear stage of a sub- transmission is started. CONSTITUTION:Motion power of an engine 10 is transmitted to a wheel 26 connected to a driving shaft 24 through a Froude coupling 12 provided with a lockup clutch, a continuously variable transmission 16, a sub-transmission 18, and a deceleration gear device 20 and so on. It is judged by an up-shifting judgement means that the up-shifting of the gear stage of the sub-transmission 18 is started. When it is judged by the up-shifting judgement means that the up-shifting of the gear stage of the sub-speed gear 18 is started, the continuously variable transmission 16 is promptly decelerated or changed at a predetermined time and at a predetermined change speed rate by a rapid deceleration/changing speed control means. Engagement shock caused by locking operation of a one- direction clutch or by switching from a low-speed gear stage to a high-speed gear stage of the sub-transmission 18, is thus suppressed. |
