<p>A method of coloring a glass optical-structure comprising providing a first glass plate member (55) having a smooth exterior surface (65) and an interior surface (75), applying a transparent paint layer (56) to said interior surface (75), providing a clear layer (57) of flowable plastic (70) over said paint layer (56) so that said flowable plastic (70) fills any variations in said paint layer (56), and prevents optical distortion in said structure, and applying a second glass member (58) having a smooth exterior surface (78) and an interior surface (68) adjacent said flowable layer (57). In structural form, the optical system comprises a four-layered optical structure. The flowable plastic (70) corrects any optical distortions created by variations in the paint layer (56).</p> |
