PURPOSE:To execute focus decision appropriately even by a camera by which focusing is performed following a moving object by executing the focusing decision only when it is decided that an object is a mobile body while a photo graphic lens is being driven. CONSTITUTION:Object light passing an interchangeable lens LZ is reflected on a submirror 106, and is received with a CCD image sensor 107 in a focusing detecting module. A controller 109 calculates defocusing quantity and its direction based on object data from the sensor, and moves the lens system of the interchangeable lens LZ forward/backward by driving a motor M01, then, adjusts a focus. At this time, it is decided whether or not the lens is being driven, and it is decided whether or not the object is the mobile body when the lens is being driven. When it is decided that the object is the mobile body, it is decided whether or not the photographic lens is located at a focusing position, however, when it is decided that the object is not the mobile body, no focusing decision is performed. Therefore, the focusing decision can be performed appropriately even when the focusing is performed following the moving object. |
