The variable impedance circuit having a transient response suppressing function includes: a variable impedance portion for varying an impedance value according to a control current for an input voltage; an amplifying portion for amplifying the input voltage varied by the variable impedance portion to a prescribed level; and a transient response suppressing portion for cutting off the amplifying portion so as not to be driven when a transient response signal is supplied. The circuit forms a variable impedance circuit and a transient response circuit by a single unit.
