Large-dimensioned plate assembly for cheese prodn. has a number of modules (13) welded together to form several moulds (1). The frame has metal inserts (5) at least at the long sides (40) with a rectangular cross section fitted with the larger side surface at right angles to the plane of the assembly. The modules (13) are assembled with a tunnel between neighbouring moulds (1) at right angles facing the tunnels (14) of other modules (13). A longitudinal tunnel holds a metal insert (5) within the frame.
