Portable steam generator with safety cut-out facility

The steam generator has a pressure container in which the steam is generated via an electric heating loop, which is positioned approximately horizontally in the normal operating position of the steam generator. The safety cut-out facility is provided by an overheating switch in series with a second switch which disconnects the heating loop if the steam generator is moved out of its normal operating position. Pref. the second switch uses a spring-loaded sensor (11) cooperating with a pivoted lever (7) having an attached weight (8), which causes the lever to pivot upon the steam generator being tipped about one of its horizontal axes, to operate the switch.
