PURPOSE: To provide a method capable of recovering efficiently major part of a heavy metal by economically treating a heavy metal-containing waste product and a chlorine-containing waste product, and also capable of insolubilizing and stabilizing in high degree a residual heavy metal content difficult to recover. CONSTITUTION: The major part of a heavy metal is chlorinated and evaporated to recover, and on the other hand, the residual heavy metal is insolubilized and stabilized by mixing the heavy metal-containing waste product with the chlorine-containing waste product and subjecting the mixture to a high temp. treatment at >=750 deg.C under controlling so that the chlorine content in the mixture may become >=2% based on the weight of the mixture. |
