PURPOSE: To provide a friction clutch control device of a vehicle capable of keeping the characteristics of a hydraulic friction clutch. CONSTITUTION: When the traveling distance DIST(=Dist(i)) corresponding to the degree of use of a vehicle is detected by a vehicle degree of use detecting means 104, and the engagement frequency LCCNT corresponding to the actual degree of deterioration of a lock-up clutch 32 is detected by a clutch deterioration detecting means 102, the engagement of the lock-up clutch 32 is prohibited by a clutch use control means 106 so that the actual degree of deterioration may be below the reference degree of deterioration (reference value LCcnt(i)) based on the preset degree of use of the vehicle, and thereby the clutch engagement frequency LCCNT is made to approach to the reference value LCcnt(i). Even when the clutch is used with the frequency exceeding the prescribed value, the actual degree of deterioration of the lock-up clutch 32 is suppressed, and the clutch characteristics during the original service life can be kept. |
