The tubular bed for a lathe consists of a tube (1) of a variable length adapted to different needs, in which are machined parallel longitudinal grooves (2) in the tube which serve as fixtures for slides (3) on which slide feet (4) which provide a support for a slide (7) or various accessories. A supplementary groove (5) is provided for a toothed rack (6) which serves to drive the slide (7) or other accessories. The tube can be filled with an anti-vibration material which is retained by end closures.
