PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high quality image by retaining a toner image obtained on a paper through an image forming operation in a satisfactory condition. SOLUTION: An opposed electrode 4 arranged at an opposite position to a toner carrier 20 through a control electrode 22 has an extended part 4a. This extended part 4a is formed at least, in the downstream of a direction in which a paper is transported to an image forming region 21 where a toner 18 is scattered from the toner carrier 20 under the control of the control electrode 22, and then is extended in the paper transport direction. Thus the time required for the implantation of an electric charge into the paper from the opposed electrode 4 is prolonged, so that the implantation amount of the electric charge into the paper is increased and the transfer of the toner 18 on the paper is controlled. |
