The rear view device is constructed from an assembly of mirrors (1). It is integrated into the vehicle (2), along the length of the upper edge of the windscreen (3). The mirror assembly is contained within a mounting case (4), which is within the passenger compartment of the vehicle. The mounting case also contains the system (5,6) for the transmission of the images from around the rear and sides of the vehicle. The assembly of mirrors is presented in the form of a reflective band extending across the top of the windscreen and divided into a central section (1'). This allows the driver to see to the rear, and two side reflective zones (7) at the edges. It allows the driver to see around the sides of the vehicle. The mirror assembly is mounted on an adjustable device (8), which allows the driver to obtain adjustments to give the best all round view.
