COMMON BUFFER TYPE ATM SWITCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constituting system for a common buffer type ATM switch for improving throughput by preventing interference between lines as a problem peculiar for the ATM switch. SOLUTION: A write address pointer memory 1106 holds the storage address of ATM cell positioned at the end of ATM cells stored in a common buffer 1104 as a list, and a queue intermediate pointer 1115 holds the storage address of ATM cell positioned in the middle of the list. An IABF capacitance monitor 1116 monitors the capacitance of the common buffer 1104 and when the capacitance is lacked, a starting instruction is issued to a cell abandonment control part 1112 so that the ATM cells stored in the common buffer 1104 in the list structure can be abandoned from the held address in the queue intermediate pointer 1115 to the held address in the write address pointer memory 1106.
