PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame retardant compsn. for cellulosic materials which is excellent in flame retardancy by using a metal imidodisulfonate and a guanidine salt as the essential components. SOLUTION: This compsn. essentially comprises 0.5-20wt.% metal salt, pref. alkaline earth metal salt, of imidodisulfonic acid and 99.5-80wt.% at least one guanidine salt selected from among guanidinium phosphate, guanidinium polyphosphate, guanidinium sulfamate, guanidinium silicate, guanidinium sulfate, and guanidinium borate (esp. pref. guanidinium sulfamate), is used as an aq. soln. with a solid content of 1-60wt.%, and is impregnated pref. in an amt. of 2-40wt.% into a substrate to be treated. |
