<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate retrieval of data with respect to a small image in a large received image by using a coding cost map ECM. SOLUTION: A transmitter 10 conducts calculation of cost function 14 relating to a block of each JPEG coding, calculation of sum of cost functions with respect to a column 16 of each block in an image, an coefficient calculation of DC 18 with respect to each block or a block of a prescribed pixel. Furthermore, a receiver 20 establishes the cost function a column function introduced from the cost function to generate an ECM. The ECM is a set of the cost functions of various blocks and subjected to various image processing for a display device or a screen. Thus, the relation between the column function and the cost function is established and various cost functions are arranged in a 2-dimensional map. Moreover column data from the transmitter 10 are used to map a DC coefficient to a 2-dimensional map.</p> |
