<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply faster rate control on the occurrence of congestion to the entire ATM network by sending a backward resource management cell of an ATM logic bus included in a congestion detection part to a return path of the ATM logic bus with priority when congestion is detected in an outward path. SOLUTION: Congestion in switch sections 1311 -1313 in a outward path is monitored by switch congestion detection sections 1341 -143 at all times. RM processing discrimination sections 1351 -1353 inserts a BRM cell to a congestion notice to a transmission terminal equipment 11 when the switch congestion detection sections 1341 -1343 detect congestion and change a value of a payload in the BRM cell received by the switch sections 1311 -1313 . Furthermore, the RM processing discrimination sections 1351 -1353 detect the congestion notice from a received FRM cell or BRM cell and switch control sections 1331 -1333 apply priority control to the FRM cell and the BRM cell different from the outward path and the return path.</p> |
