摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vice device which can clamp by proper clamp force in accordance with a material, diameter, and thickness of a pipe material. SOLUTION: This vice device is provided with vice jaws 3, 5 which can nip a pipe material P, a vice jaw drive part 7 which drives the vice jaws 3, 5, an input part 27 which inputs a material, a diameter, and a thickness of the pipe material P, a computing and processing part 25 which computes clamp force of the vice jaws 3, 5 based on data input from the input part 27, and a control part 23 which controls the vice jaw drive part 7 based on the results of computation of the computing and processing part 25. In this case, when clamp force is F, an outside diameter of a pipe is D, a thickness of the pipe is T, and elastic allowable stress of the pipe material isσ, the computation of the computing and processing part 25 is done according to the equation expressed by F=α.σ.T<2> /(D-T) (whereinαis coefficient), and a multiplying means 29 which multiplies a coefficient for the results of the computation of the computing and processing part 25 is provided.
