<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diffractor for electromagnetic radiation whose base is of pseudo-sphere type stairway geometry designed under a fixed stairway width condition. SOLUTION: This diffractor, which is of three-stage (whose arrangement actually consists of five diffraction elements because it is of symmetrical shape), consists of a small number of small spherical curved dispersing elements (directional crystal surface or diffraction grid) arranged on a focus circle. The positions of respective dispersing elements on the focus circle are set at a position which ensures the identical Bragg angle to incident radiation, so that this diffractor is placed in the arrangement of the diffraction elements (stairway) which increase the spectrum output of this device so as to make each of them contribute to the total solid angle of the diffractor.</p> |
