PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce a lateral band-shaped white part appearing on the display screen of a color picture tube by providing a vertical linearity correcting circuit for correcting a vertical deflecting voltage to be supplied to a vertical deflection yoke so as to follow the input impedance of the vertical deflection yoke. SOLUTION: This vertical deflection circuit is provided with a vertical output IC 4 as a differential input IC and a vertical linearity correcting part 4 connected between its output part and negative input part. The vertical linearity correcting part 8 is provided with a resistor 803 parallelly connected with a parallel circuit composed of diodes 801 and 802 and a resistor 804 serially connected with the parallel circuit composed of the diodes 801 and 802. A voltage waveform outputted from the output part of the vertical output IC 4 connected to a vertical deflection coil 60 is corrected by the vertical linearity correcting part 8 and fed back to the negative input part of the vertical output IC 4. When the resistance values of the resistors 803 and 804 are selected at optimum values in this case, the band-shaped white part on the color picture tube display screen is reduced.
