PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyurethane usable as a hair setting agent, having excellently cleaning down properties (redispersibility), especially for a hair treatment composition. SOLUTION: This cross-linked water-soluble or water-dispersible polyurethane or its salt comprises (A) at least one water-soluble or water-dispersible polyurethane polymer containing a terminal isocyanate group composed of (a) at least one compound containing two active hydrogen atoms in one molecule and having 56-300 molecular weight, (b) at least one polymer containing two active hydrogen atoms in one molecule, (c) at least one compound containing at least two active hydrogen atoms in one molecule and at least one ionogen group or ionic group and (d) at least one diisocyanate and (B) at least one polymer containing a group reactive to an isocyanate group, selected from a hydroxy group, a primary and a secondary amino groups and/or carboxy group. |
