<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To identify the feature of an input color document in a small data structure and to express it by binarizing the color document and executing a block selection processing on binarized picture data. SOLUTION: A process step for processing a color document is transferred to a main memory 30 and a CPU 20 executes it. Namely, a primary color value expressing a color picture is inputted and a threshold binarized range is calculated based on the input value and the input value is binarized to a binary value based on the threshold binarized range. A color area in the picture is identified and a frame for surrounding the identified color area is defined. A second threshold binarized range is calculated based on input three primary color values corresponding to the color area and the input three primary color values corresponding to the color area are binarized based on the second threshold binarized range. The background color of the picture is calculated based on the input three primary color values and the background color of the color area is calculated based on the input three primary color values.</p> |
