<p>A valve (26) for the braking system of a tractor/trailer combination ensures that the trailer brakes (22) are not inadvertently released as the service and supply lines are connected. A valve member (54) is normally closed by a bias applied through an actuating member (34) to prevent release of the trailer brakes. A single actuation of the vehicle brake pedal (24) biases the actuating member (34) oppositely, allowing the valve member (54) to open; thereafter the valve member (54) is maintained in the open condition until the trailer is disconnected from the tractor.</p> |
