PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drastically improve the heating quality of a slab without heating the slab with a manual control by removing the heating restricting conditions having lower order of the precedence in order and finding the optimum LP(linear programming) solution, when the LP solution satisfying the whole heating restricting conditions is not found even in the case of executing the calculation with the LP method. SOLUTION: When the LP solution satisfying the whole heating restricting conditions is not found in the calculation with the LP method, the optimum LP solution is found while removing the heating restricting conditions having lower order of the precedence, in order. A heat pattern is calculated by using the LP solution and each slab 2 is heated by adjusting the temp. in each furnace zone 3a-3(i+1) constituting the heating furnace 4.
