PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a warp winding device capable of easily operating a reed from a front part of a tension detecting roller, and capable of reducing the number of rollers. SOLUTION: In this warp winding device where a group of yarns 1 having passed through a reed 2 is fed while held between a nip roller 3 and a feeding roller 4, and then taken up by a winding beam 7 through a tension detecting roller 5 separated at an upstream side of the feeding roller 4, a moving means 6 is mounted for relatively approaching the tension detecting roller 5 to the feeding roller 4 separated at a downstream side, and the group of yarns 1 is held between the approaching feeding roller 4 and tension detecting roller 5.
