SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANAGING MEDICAL INSURANCE USING MEDICAL INSURANCE ELECTRONIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PURPOSE: A system and method for managing a medical insurance using a medical insurance electronic recording medium and a communication network is provided to store on-line connection information, personal history information, and medical examination history information electrically for a medical insurance receiver to use a medical insurance and to permit a medical examination of a medical institution using a medical insurance benefit through on-line connection information. CONSTITUTION: A card type information recording medium having a semiconductor memory is provided. The semiconductor memory stores medical insurance related information of a medical insurance receiver capable of being read to the exterior. A smart media medical insurance card(2) is embodied to a medical insurance receiver. A local terminal(4) for a medical institution is mounted in a plurality of medical institutions. A display monitor(12), a key input unit(14), a card read/recording unit(16) and a sign certification input unit(18) are connected to the local terminal(4). A switching hub(20) and a secure encryption/compression processing unit(24) connect the local terminal(4) and an internal network to the Internet network and an on-line as an information communication network.
