PURPOSE: To easily convert printed boies different by color values to coloring material quantities by correcting the differences between tristimulus values of an arbitrary printed body and those of a known printed body to obtain the coloring material quantity of the arbitrary printed body. CONSTITUTION: Lab values as the color value of a chart picture 1 are measured, and relations between CMY values as the coloring material quantity and Lab values are set to a conversion means 502. Tristimulus values 511 of a chart picture 2 are measured and are registered in a storage means 508. Tristimulus values 510 of a chart picture 3 are measured, and the contribution rate is calculated in a contribution rate calculating means 512 by tristimulus values 510 and 511 and is stored in a contribution rate calculating means 512. The weight coefficient for conversion to CMY values 505 required for reproducing the Lab values 503 on arbitrary paper is calculated in a conversion setting means 507 in accordance with tristimulus values 506 of arbitrary paper and CMY values, tristimulus values, and the contribution rate in the means 508 and is set to a conversion means B504. Thus, CMY values 501 for proofreading printer are converted to CMY values 505. |
