The invention concerns a method for reinforcing a carrying cable (4) anchored at its two ends and bearing a civil engineering structure suspended via substantially vertical sag rods (3), which consists in fixing to the carrying cable supports (14) forming each at least a support base plate shaped like an upturned troughs, said supports being distributed along the carrying cable, then in passing an auxiliary cable (7) under the supporting base plate formed by each support, and tensioning said auxiliary cable to slacken or reinforce the carrying cable. |
