PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a communication network by which tuning information for a service provided onto the network is supplied to a receiver such as a set-top box connected to the network. SOLUTION: A database including service identifiers(SI) to identify a provided service and tuning parameters(TP) of a plurality of sets are compiled. Each set relates to each of the service identifiers. Accessing the database via any of the service identifiers and using the retrieved tuning parameter to tune a receiver can retrieve the tuning parameter for the requested service. The method and the network provide a flexible method to serve information. This invention also provides a subscriber terminal and a computer program product.
