PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a KARAOKE equipment having a game function by which a program director can give people proper hints and they can guess a title based on an introduction part of song. SOLUTION: This KARAOKE equipment having a game function to guess the titles based on the introduction parts of songs provides the memory unit which stores the melody generating data and the word describing data of many kind of KARAOKE songs; the normal KARAOKE playing means which outputs the accompaniment melodies of KARAOKE songs and also synchronously outputs the images corresponding the tune words by processing both of the melody generating data and the word describing data of the designated song in the memory unit; the introduction parts playing means which invalidates the output of the images corresponding the tunes and simultaneously outputs a part of the accompaniment melodies of KARAOKE songs by processing only a section of the melody generating data of a piece of song; and the mode change means which changes for the introduction parts playing mode by the introduction parts playing means when it accepts the mode change orders as the input from the user. The hint data matched to the KARAOKE songs are stored, and the hint data corresponding to the song of the game object are output to the specific picture signal output line from the memory unit.
