PURPOSE: A method of displaying the current operation state of a projection type display system is provided to allow a user to correctly recognize the cause of a failure generated in the projection type display system. CONSTITUTION: It is checked if a self diagnosis mode is set or not when a projection type display system is turned on or a channel is converted(201). When the self diagnosis mode is set, self diagnosis is performed for at least one check item(202). The judged result according to execution of the self diagnosis is displayed(203). When the check item corresponds to the state of an antenna reception signal, an automatic gain control level of a reception signal currently being applied is detected. When the detected automatic gain control level exceeds a reference level, the state of the antenna reception signal is judged to be normal. When the detected automatic gain control level is not higher than the reference level, the state of the antenna reception signal is judged to be poor. |
