PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an impact absorbing mechanism having more excellent impact absorption property and a car room equipment provided with it. SOLUTION: The impact absorbing mechanism has a multi-stepped cylindrical part 1 and relaxes an impact force by breaking connection parts 13, 14 connecting multi-stepped parts 10 and 11, and 11 and 12 each other when the mechanism receives the impact force. Adjacent cylindrical parts 10 and 11, 11 and 12 of the multi-stepped cylindrical part are constituted such that one cylindrical part is press-fitted into a cylinder of the other cylindrical part after the connection parts 13, 14 are broken by forming the minimum outer diameters (M2, M3) of the one cylindrical parts 11 and 12 larger than the maximum inner diameters (L2, L3) of the other cylindrical parts 10 and 11.
