PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrying device for carrying a plurality of planar bodies carried almost compactly and continuously at prescribed dimensions in a carrying direction by opening an almost fixed gap for each one or each of plural sheets of the planar bodies in almost parallel with the carrying direction. SOLUTION: A gap is opened between a planar body A and a planar body B by lifting a carrying direction lower side of the planar body B by a carrier chain 31, making the lower side in non-contact with a carrier belt 21, decelerating and traveling a carrier belt 11 to speed V2 slower than speed V1 by a drive shaft 7 in a state of the carrier belt 21 of the speed V1 till the head of the carrier chain 31 reaches almost the intermediate of a shaft 19 and a drive shaft 37 and decelerating and traveling the carrier chain 31 and a chain 32 to speed V2 slower than the speed V1 by the drive shaft 37.
