PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel apparatus and a method for separating earth and sand by which mud discharged from the ground excavated by a pusher can be disposed of as industrial waste at low cost. SOLUTION: The apparatus includes a suction device 5 for sucking the mud M excavated by the pusher 1; a storage tank 4 for storing the mud M sucked by the suction device 5; a muddy water supply portion 11 for supplying muddy water into the tank 4; and an earth/sand sampling device 7 for sampling only earth and sand by taking out the mud M and muddy water in the tank 4. The muddy water separated by the device 7 is supplied into the tank 4 by the supply portion 11 and circulated through the tank 4, the device 7 and the supply portion 11. |
