PURPOSE: A method of performing user authentication using voice recognition function of a mobile wireless terminal is provided to use a voice recognition function using personal voice characteristics, so as to quickly and stably carry out user registration and authentication procedures. CONSTITUTION: A controller decides whether a key corresponding to an unlocking function is inputted(300). If so, the controller extracts an optional voice recognition dial from a memory(302). The controller outputs a message requesting a voice inputting corresponding to the optional voice recognition dial through a display or a speaker(306). If a user inputs a voice, the controller decides whether the user inputs a voice(308). If so, the controller compares inputted voice data of the user with pre-registered voice data(310). If the two voice data are the same, the controller outputs a message for requesting a four-digit password to the user(312). If the user inputs the password, the controller decides whether the inputted password is equal to a preset password(318). If so, the controller unlocks a mobile wireless terminal in accordance with user authentication(320).
