<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing speed and routing performance for a packet having an extended header. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with an intelligent NIC 311, which is provided at a relay node of packet communication and checks presence/ absence of an extended header in an inputted packet (packet 40A or extended packet 40B) and conducts routing for the packet according to a routing table if the packet (packet 40A) has no extended header, based on the result of the check. The intelligent NIC 311 lets a sub-routing processing unit 320 execute processing for an extended header via a physical network 330 if the packet (extended packet 40B) has an extended header, based on the result of the check.</p> |
