PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment method that can improve the removal effect of microorganism in drinking water and waste water using the photocatalytic effect of titanium oxide. SOLUTION: This water treatment method comprises a first treatment step for dipping an electrode 11 and carbon fiber 8 in which a plurality of parts on each surface of which titanium oxide is fixed and a plurality of exposed surface parts are adjacently distributed, in a flow channel of water-to-be-treated, and applying positive potential to the carbon fiber and negative potential to the electrode, thereby absorbing the microorganisms on the exposed surface parts of the carbon fiber, and a second treatment step where the carbon fiber is irradiated with ultraviolet rays after the first treatment step.
