PURPOSE: A method for downloading an input/output processor kernel is provided to prevent a mistake of a user in a manual job, to solve a complexity of a job, and to verify a normal state of a downloaded code accurately when an input/output processor kernel is downloaded in different kinds of input/output processor boards. CONSTITUTION: If a boot command is executed, a memory is loaded in a boot loader. If an input/output processor to be downloaded exists, a download code is loaded in the memory and a download start command is transmitted to a corresponding input/output processor. A download code is copied and verified, and a service is started in the memory. If an input/output processor to be downloaded does not exist, a UNIX code is loaded in the memory and the mode is converted into a UNIX mode.
