A chain drive assembly for a tracked vehicle with two drive sides, each of which has a traveling chain guided over several wheels, is provided with at least two adjacent wheels (5-7) which are rotatably supported on swinging projections (11, 12, 19), the two swinging projections (11, 12, 19) being supported on t he vehicle side with the freedom to pivot around a common pivot axis (10, 10a), which is parallel to the rotational axes of the wheels (5-7).
