PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating the end of a string by which the string has excellent fashionability with a good touch because the end of the string is covered with a tube or a cap made of a silicone rubber. SOLUTION: This method for treating the end of the string comprises the following steps. (i) A step of elastically extending the tube or cap made of the silicone rubber and having the diameter which is the same as or smaller than that of the end of the string to a larger diameter than that of the end of the string. (ii) A step of inserting the end of the string into the extended tube or cap. (iii) A step of releasing the extending force for the tube or cap, elastically restoring the tube or cap and covering the end of the string with the tube or cap. (iv) A step of thrusting a pin or a thread through the tube or cap and the end of the string and fixing the tube or cap and the end of the string. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
