PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dust collector capable of housing recovered dust so as to reduce the volume thereof, capable of being made easy in handling and holding a filter for a long term and in good state. SOLUTION: This dust collector is constituted so that an intake port 1d is provided to the dust collector body 1a, a dust collection filter 2 for holding dust is provided in the dust collector body 1a, a chute 1b is provided to the lower part of the dust collector body 1a, a recovery container 15 is provided to the lower part of the dust collector body 1a, a pressure piece 10b is provided to the lower end of a lift lever 9 moved up and down by a screw shaft 14 rotated by a motor 7 with a brake, and the pressure piece 10b falls in a recovery container 15 to press housed dust.
