PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relatively stabilize an operation even when an intermittent operation is continued for a long period of time and to relatively reduce mechanical shocks to device components. SOLUTION: In a film separator, a film element 16 is immersed in a liquid tank 10 filled with a liquid 14 to be treated and the intermittent operation of repeating a filtering operation and filtering stoppage in the film element 16 is performed. In the film separator, suction is performed so as to fix the flow rate of a film transmission liquid at the time of the filtering operation of the film element 16. A suction pressure at the time is detected in a manometer 28 and a controller 42 changes the cycle of the intermittent operation corresponding to a detected result. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
