PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation method by a portable terminal which can simply navigate at the terminal. SOLUTION: A departure place and a destination are transmitted from a portable telephone 7 to a navigation server 5. The route searched by the server 5 based on traffic information and a required time are received by the telephone 7. Then, the points on the route and the required time between the route points on the searched route are further received, and the route is guided by the telephone 7 along the received time and the point on the route.
