PURPOSE: A method for automatically informing of a subscriber message using an intelligent network is provided to announce a stored media message to a subscriber if the subscriber requests to use a prepayment/deferred payment service, and to transmit the media message to the subscriber if the subscriber requests to confirm the media message, thereby enabling the subscriber to easily confirm the stored message. CONSTITUTION: An exchange routes a call to a service exchange of an intelligent network(S30). The service exchange translates a receiving number, and transmits an intelligent network application protocol to a service controller(S32,S34). A service logic instance state manager activates a media message supplying system, and performs an authentication procedure for a subscriber(S36). If the authentication procedure is successful(S38), the manager decides whether an alarm message is set by retrieving a subscriber service profile(S40,S42). If so, the manager transmits a subscriber directory identifier to the media message supplying system(S44). The supplying system delivers an announcement to the subscriber(S46), and recognizes that the subscriber requests to confirm the message(S48).
