<p>The invention relates to a method and device for the low NOx combustion of tail gases containing soot, in particular, in the carbon black industry. According to the invention, the required emission levels in the exhaust, in particular low NOx and Cfix values on combustion of water-saturated, combustible tail gases may be achieved by means of a method with three oxidation stages over four method steps. The combustion is carried out in a combustion chamber system with a distributed multi-nozzle burner on the air side with individual burner nozzles and air lances, which are alternately stoichiometrically and non-stoichiometrically operated. The partly-combusted tail gases are subjected to a Boudouard reaction in a combustion chamber and cooled to 50 to 150 degrees, divided into two gas streams by a displacer in a burn-out chamber with convergent walls and after-burnt with introduction of secondary air, then, in order to reduce the CO and soot content, the above is run through a perforated brick wall and subjected to a further catalytic after-burning.</p> |
