D-PULSE HVDC SYSTEM USING AUXILIARY CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: A D-pulse HVDC(High Voltage Direct Current) system using an auxiliary circuit is provided to form a 24-pulse thyristor HVDC system by adding two thyristors to an existing 12-pulse thyristor HVDC system. CONSTITUTION: A C-pulse HVDC system using an auxiliary circuit includes a transformer(11), a top thyristor converter(12), a bottom thyristor converter(13), a couple of reactors(39), a couple of capacitors(38), a compound transformer(31), and a couple of thyristors(32,33). The top thyristor converter(12) and the bottom thyristor converter(13) are installed at the transformer(11). The reactors(39), the capacitors(38), the transformer(31), and the thyristors(32,33) are installed between the top thyristor converter and the bottom thyristor converter. The reactors are used for smoothing the current. The capacitors are used for dividing a DC voltage. The thyristors(32,33) are connected to the compound transformer(31).
