<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charging system which is clean to an environment and enables the reduction of mass of an electric motor-driven vehicle 20. <P>SOLUTION: A charging system 30 that charges a lead storage battery 1a (a first lead storage battery) by using a first solar battery 8a is installed on the driving course of the electric motor-driven vehicle 20. Then the charging system 30 charges the outputs of the solar battery 8a and the lead storage battery 1a to a lead storage battery 1b (a second lead battery) on the electric motor-driven vehicle 20 by using an inverter 7 and a battery charger 5. A charging condition to the lead storage battery 1b is automatically adjusted in response to discharged amounts of the lead storage batteries 1a, 1b and the intensity of sunlight.
