摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus that provides an improved light utilization efficiency of the lighting apparatus that uses an organic EL as a light source, and causes a deviated light with high brightness to outgo. <P>SOLUTION: An organic EL light source is designed to include a linear transparent electrode that is subjected to patterning with a line width thinner than the thickness of a light guide plate, a metal electrode that is thicker than the line width of the linear transparent electrode and permits a mirror reflection, and an organic EL material provided between the linear transparent electrode and the metal electrode. The linear organic EL light source is arranged at the end surface of the light guide plate in which a deviation and separation device is formed. Further, a first reflection layer is provided on the surface opposed to the light emitting surface of the light guide plate, a second refection layer is provided on the surface opposed to an incident surface. With such a configuration, the structure of the light guide plate is optimized so that a light may be emitted with high efficiency, and it can be used for the lighting of a liquid crystal display element. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
