PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and an electronic device are provided to restrain a display defect from being created and realize bright display with a wide viewing angle by making an electrode in a dot area have many island shape parts. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal layer includes liquid crystal that represents vertical alignment as an initial alignment state and has different thickness in a transmission display area and a reflection display area. An electrode(31) in one of a pair of substrates has a plurality of island shape parts(31a,31b,31c) in a dot area and connection parts(31d,31e) for electrically connecting the island shape parts to each other. The island shape parts are placed in the transmission display area and the reflection display area respectively by the number of an integer. A boundary sloping area(N) and the connection parts are horizontally overlapped with each other.
