<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an installation structure of a heat pump type water heater in a collective housing capable of efficiently installing the heat pump type water heater composed of a heat pump part and a hot water storage tank without oppressing a living space. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of pipes 14 are mounted in a corner space at a depth side of a pipe space 16 left after installing the hot water storage tank 12, and the heat pump part is mounted in the other vacant space. In a case of installing a large-scaled hot water storage tank, the heat pump part is divided into a water-side heat exchanger 4, a compressor 6 and an air-side heat exchanger 2 to improve a degree of freedom in installing the heat pump.
